Aligning Faculty Identity and Priorities: A Workshop for Associate Professors

Location: Hilton Downtown Columbus
Presenters: Tracy Kitchel – senior associate dean and director of CFAES Faculty and Staff Affairs; Sathya Gopalakrishnan – professor and faculty fellow, CFAES Office of Faculty and Staff Affairs
Session Description: This workshop is designed to support associate professors (mid-career faculty) in reflecting on their faculty identity and career goals. They will explore their roles and responsibilities, examine patterns in their decision making, and identify opportunities to shift time allocation to align priorities with professional aspirations. Through reflection activities and interactive discussions, we will provide strategies to evaluate how they spend their time, what energizes or drains them, and how to reframe obligations as intentional choices. The goal is to empower faculty to cultivate sustainable careers that reflect their values and aspirations. This two-part workshop will occur during Breakout Sessions 3 and 4 at Extension Conference.
